We are looking for a Workers' Compensation Paralegal who thrives in both a collaborative and independent environment; where diversity within their team and organization is valued. The successful candidate will have the option to work up to 2 days per week remotely.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review and respond to Subpoenas and HIPAAs.
- Assist management in data analysis and report management.
- Conduct legal research and summarize case law.
- Prepare documents, pleadings, motions, legal memoranda and briefs, certifications and affidavits.
- Provide support to staff attorneys from litigation inception to trial.
- Provide litigation assistance for regional claims.
- Provide assistance in civil claims actions and coverage.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Paralegal Certificate is required (from an ABA approved program is preferred).
- Proficiency in accurately organizing and preparing legal documents;
- Strong ability to summarize and analyze legal documents and medical records;
- Conduct, summarize and analyze investigative and/or legal research;
- Experience working with laws and statutes governing workers' compensation litigation and civil tort litigation in NJ, NY, PA, CT, DE, MD;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and customer service;
- Excellent organizational/prioritization and time management skills;, with the ability to manage competing priorities efficiently;
- Must have the ability to prioritize and proactively manage a large case load;
- Ability to work independently, with mentoring
