Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a S&OP Performance Strategist to join our Motorsports team in Marietta, GA. The S&OP Performance Strategist will be responsible for, but not limited to, managing and analyzing data across different departments to create accurate forecasts, optimize inventory levels, and contribute to projects that will improve operational efficiency. They will support strategic decision-making by providing insights and reports on business performance in the S&OP process. The S&OP Performance Strategist works cross functionally with numerous groups within Motorsports and other departments within Yamaha.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collaborate with the Sales Planning team to understand the PSI (Production, Sales, Inventory) forecast and integrate it into the dealer-facing retail programs, and wholesale program targets. Continuously track and analyze retail sales and wholesale trends, providing high-level insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Partner with Sales Planning, Dealer Network Team, and Operations to create quarterly retail sales targets for each dealer. When needed, adjust targets mid-quarter. Also work with outside vendors to adjust & improve the target setting process as needed.
- Create targets for monthly wholesale order programs utilizing the SAP system. Collaborate with Sales Planning, Product Line Managers, Field Sales, Operations, and IT in determining logic, approach and successful implementation of targets on a monthly cadence. Also work with IT team to improve the target setting programming as needed.
- Support S&OP Project Manager with analytics needed for ongoing projects.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with business objectives to measure the effectiveness of the Sales & Operations Planning process, including forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, service levels, and demand-supply balance.
- Gather field, dealer and internal feedback on the wholesale and retail targets. Constantly monitor the accuracy of the program targets and adjust the targets and/or target setting process as needed to ensure accuracy (PDCA).
- Identify inefficiencies in sales operations and recommend improvements to enhance productivity. Work alongside all members within Sales Ops to identify the inefficiencies.
- Manage records in accordance with JSOX guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred (business, mathematics, etc.) or Minimum 3+ years experience in business analysis capacity.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment. Job requires considerable judgment and initiative with limited supervision.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills required.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- SAP and Business Objects experience preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of autonomy expected
