Our engineers support manufacturing of our product to remain operational, continuously improve and innovate. With our extensive range of facilities and environments, our Engineers have opportunities across many diverse areas including Biological, Chemical, Automation, Capital Projects, Maintenance, Safety, Process Development, Technical Services, Utilities and Validation.

The automation engineer will be responsible for day-to-day operations support activities, in a GMP environment, including but not limited to the following technologies:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and execute current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions.

  • Provide automation support to maintain operation through troubleshooting, intervention and preventive maintenance.

  • Perform system administrative tasks to keep the automation systems to be compliant and inspection ready state by performing periodic review, alarm management, system upgrade and SOP updates.

  • Participate and contribute to deviation investigations relate to automation to prevent a recurrence.

  • Provide off-site weekend/evening automation phone or on-site support on a rotational basis.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly (oral and in writing) and frequently with operations and other support groups.

  • Provide designing, implementing, testing, and closing-out change controls for automation related corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to the cGMP and GDP.

  • Participate small capital projects by performing computer system validation following the company's System Development Life Cycle procedures.

  • Engineers are also expected to provide off-site weekend/evening automation phone or on-site support.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering or related field

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 year's experience in process automation, IT or equivalent in GMP regulated industry.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with all levels of colleagues in a team environment, and with external parties.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Systech, or other serialization or aggregation software, DeltaV DCS, Allen Bradly PLC, Siemens S7 PLC, OPC, ASI/Field/Profibus experience.

  • STEM major preferred.

  • Networking, Virtual Machines, Database management and other general IT administration.
