Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER
Biweekly Hours: 72.00
Shift: 7pm-7:30am

Summary:
Provides respiratory therapy services to neonatal through geriatric patients in accordance with a physician's written and/or verbal orders, and according to established procedures/protocols/the clinical standards of the Respiratory Therapy department. Instructs patients as to the procedures, medications, nature of therapy, and equipment involved in treatment. Maintains competency and proficiency with requisite skills as dictated by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), the Joint Commission, the Ohio Medical Board, the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), and all required/necessary job responsibilities. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
Active Limited Permit from the Ohio Medical Board.
Must successfully become credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC within 6 months of placement into the position.
Possess and maintain an active Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license from the Ohio Medical Board within 8 months of placement into the position.
Possess and maintain BLS Certification from the AHA.
Reliable transportation to travel to designated MetroHealth locations.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred:
Possess a Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Possess an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from the AHA.
Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals.
