Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to join our Emerging Capabilities Development (ECD) team, which is a part of the Airborne Multifunction Sensors (AMS) Division in the Mission Systems (MS) Sector. This position will be a hybrid opportunity to the Linthicum, MD area.
This position will provide Global Supply Chain support for the Advanced Technology Business Unit, directly supporting 10+ USG Development Programs, 10+ Independent Research and Development (IRAD) programs, and multiple quick-turn USG proposals. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, where they must understand all aspects of supply chain planning and be able to interact/collaborate with Business Unit Directors, Program Managers, Business Managers, as well with Engineering, Contracts, Operations and Quality Managers, Buyers, and Suppliers to cohesively drive successful program performance.
Job functions may include but are not limited to:
• Manage financial forecasts for assigned programs and drive monthly material receipts to achieve division/sector goals
• Present to internal decision-makers and represent ECD Global Supply Chain in program briefings such as weekly Page and Line meetings for assigned programs and Material Receipts Reviews
• Coordinate with the Program Management Office (PMO) to define and develop material strategy for each program
• Responsible for providing monthly Current Material Estimates (CMEs) at completion
• Participate in quick-turn certified proposals and manage GSC material, subcontractor, and labor content
• Create Bill of Estimates (BOEs), review Costed Bill of Materials (CBOMs) and participate in gathering and submitting data for Quest Runs
• Complete and manage Individual Subcontracting Plan (ISP) from proposal phase through execution
• Utilize reporting tools such as Material Cost Account Visibility (MCAV), WEBI Replenishments, Cognos, and SAP to maintain and manage subcontractor/material risks and opportunities
• Complete non-MRP requests (M922s) in support of material and service procurements
• Collaborate with Subcontracts and Procurement team to optimize delivery schedules
• Support Statement of Work (SOW) creation for subcontract activities
• Understand/ensure overarching goals of the division are being supported and specific ECD goals are achieved
• Solve problems of a moderate scope and complexity using established principles, theories, and concepts with adherence to organizational precedents and policies
• Identify areas of opportunity for process improvement and support implementation
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and on the job training to lower-level professionals
• Ability to work with less experienced Program Teams and provide a general level of guidance on processes and procedures
Basic Qualifications for the Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist:
• A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant supply chain and/or business management experience; OR a master's degree and 3 or more years of relevant supply chain and/or business management experience
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications for the Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist:
• Experience as a GSC Planner on Development Programs in a quick-turn environment
• Experience with financial forecasting and managing multiple programs at once
• Experience with supply chain functions for proposals including BOEs, Quest, and ISPs
• Experience with supply chain reporting tools such as MCAV, WEBI, Cognos, and CMEs, in addition to M922 submittals
• Experience in applying Federal and Defense contracting requirements (FAR/DFARS), as well as ITAR
• Experience with SAP and Excel
Salary Range: $87,000 - $130,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
