Be responsible for providing technical expertise as a program team leader in the identification and development of new products. You will lead the design effort and be technically responsible for the project. You will provide reports to internal and customer senior stakeholders. You will lead proposals to address future business opportunities, value engineering and program/process changes. Act as a key focal point for driving and implementing goals and objectives and are recognized by business management as primary technical authority
Located at the Honeywell Aerospace engines campus in Tempe, Arizona, this Aerospace Materials Engineering position.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong impactful leadership of metallic, non-metallic, mechanical, and electronic components used in aerospace and military applications.
- Use deep hands-on experience with aerospace metals leading engineers to solve all types of forging, castings, heat treatment, Injection molding, chemical processing, metallurgical and process challenges with strong team and project leadership skills
- Recognize processing history in the metallurgical results and explain meaning of the results to upper leadership, peers, and to early career engineers
- Use a data science approach with materials science principles to develop and execute design of experiments using computational materials software (ICME)
- Use practical experience with special process suppliers to readily understand their challenges, articulate robust guidance for solutions, and effectively relay supplier experience to the Honeywell designers for improved manufacturability
- Use role model coaching and mentoring skills to significantly improve the agility and effectiveness of other engineers
- Lead and perform role model project leadership for complex technical development projects
- Develop strategic relationships with adjacent engineering and business organizations leading achievement of Honeywell objectives

YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelors degree in Materials Science Engineering or Master's degree in Materials Science
- 15+ years' experience on metallurgy expertise and nonmetallic materials mixed with process development, problem resolution and design requirement definition
