Full Job Description
The Landfill Operations Clerk Provides clerical and administrative support to the General Manager or designated leader at the specific field location. Assists in coordinating all aspects of daily operations, including recording and reporting data. Duties and tasks are varied and may be somewhat complex.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Completes and maintains a variety of reports as directed by the operations specialist and/or the general manager.
* Assists in the implementation of operational projects, employee activities, annual events, customer appreciation, as needed.
* Facilitates record retention as necessary and according to Company policy.
* Collects and tracks data for internal employee safety incentive programs.
* Review railroad websites and retrieve data, then compile into reports.
* Maintain the “Railmaster” excel spreadsheet.
* Identify & Interpret Rail Scale Data to create daily excel spreadsheets and reports.
* Communicate information to Logistics to ensure our customers’ requirements are met.
* Coordinate with multiple departments on operations related activities.
* Provide clerical and administrative support to the Operations department.
* Creates the Rail Car Today’s List by importing the Rail Scale Gross Weights to inform operations of how many railcars can be unloaded for the day to stay within our daily tonnage limitations.
* Creates the Rail Car Today’s List by importing Rail Scale Empty weights, after unloading, to arrive at the Net Tons for data entry into TRUX
* Backup to cover responsibilities of the Scale House Attendant and Rail Operations Specialist when someone is out sick or on vacation.
* Completes and Prepares Rail Waste Manifests & sends to applicable customers.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
Qualifications:
* Education: High School Diploma, GED and/or equivalent work experience
* 2 years Background in transportation, experience with railroad a plus
* Ability to use a computer and related devices, such as a keyboard, mouse and other related equipment throughout the workday while seated at a desk or workstation
* Ability to organize various office systems
* Ability to multitask, be detail oriented, organize and prioritize work schedule
* Must have good time management skills
* Well spoken, articulate and courteous verbal, written and phone correspondence
* Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced
* Ability to collaborate with
* Demonstrate initiative, including pro-actively identifying and addressing issues
* Maintain intermediate to advanced working knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint,

* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
* Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
