GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Manager of Store Finance will manage all Capital and Fixed Expense spend for Store Operations and Loss Prevention. This person will manage a team of 2-3 and be responsible for critical financial processes like month-end close, forecast, budget, and 5-year planning. In addition to providing regular analysis and reporting like capital tracking, actual vs. budget variance analysis, and quarterly Board preparation support schedules, the Store Finance team is also responsible for performing ad hoc strategic analysis and reporting, as needed, for Stores Leadership and Executives.

This person will report to the Vice President of Store Finance & Operations and interact frequently with Stores Leadership and Executives, the Accounting team, the Corporate FP&A team, and other Business Partners. This Director will start with 2 direct reports.

Ross Stores has a hybrid work model - we are in the Dublin Corporate office 3 days a week.

The base salary range for this role is $105,600 - $161,100. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Help manage month-end close and forecasting processes for Store Operations and Loss Prevention

Partner with other Store Finance team members to track and forecast Store Fixed Expense and Store Capital spending.

Activities include preparation of weekly / monthly expense and capital forecasts to the Corporate FP&A team, monthly accruals and journal entries, and monthly actual to budget variance analysis.

Work with business partners to ensure appropriate controls are in place to manage relevant Store Fixed Expense and Store Capital spending.

Help manage multi-year financial planning and annual budgeting processes for Store Operations and Loss Prevention

Partner with other Store Finance team members to manage the annual budgeting and 5- year planning processes for all Store Fixed Expense and Store Capital accounts.

Ensure budgets and 5 Year Plans are based on sound assumptions and analytics, are accurate and submitted on time, and have been appropriately vetted and reviewed by relevant business partners using effective communication materials

Create materials to socialize budgets / plans with Stores Leadership and Executives and drive all follow-ups to completion.

Submit final plans into Hyperion.

Support Board preparation activities (5x a year)

Develop variance to budget and forecast materials to Stores Leadership and Executives

Support month-end and quarter-end reporting processes, including partnering with Accounting and Financial Reporting teams on Board variance explanations and supporting backup

On an as-needed basis, structure and conduct strategic analyses to answer questions that arise around store performance, capital spending return on investment, operational issues and other topics.

Provide analytical support and scenario analysis to support decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Bachelor's degree required (preferably in an analytical field such as Finance, Economics, Accounting, etc.)

* Minimum of 4-6 years post-college experience with demonstrated success at increasing levels of responsibility

* Familiarity with core financial planning and analysis processes including budgeting, forecasting and financial control process design. A clear understanding of financial, statistical and economic concepts.

* Strong analytical ability - must have a data driven approach to solving problems. Solid quantitative skills, a good sense of how to dissect problems and a strong ability to "connect the dots" - e.g., understand how pieces of data interact with each other or how one finding should inform the result of another analysis

* Previous people management experience is preferred

* Dynamic, intellectually curious and self-motivated - must have the business acumen and drive necessary to be part of managing in a fast-paced, changing retail environment

* A detail-oriented approach to managing work processes. Must pay very close attention to details and have the drive to get things right

* Strong fundamental business technical skills - must be Excel and PowerPoint proficient and have an ability to learn new business process software applications (Hyperion, PeopleSoft)

* Unquestionable personal and professional character and integrity - must be trustworthy with confidential information

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.

Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.

Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
