Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Corporation is seeking a Manager to lead the Corporate Accounting department with a focus on benefits accounting. The manager will report to the Director of Corporate Accounting and will be responsible for the following accounting/reporting activities:
- Lead team of analysts through weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and reporting deliverables
- Drive process efficiency and operational effectiveness in all areas of responsibility
- Coordinate among various Corporate and Sector Managers and Directors on routine and non-routine transactions
- Educate up-and-coming analysts on the concepts underlying entries, reporting, and SOX deliverables
- Review financial statement analytics and other management reports
- Review all monthly Intercompany Accounting Transfers, including those that are complex in nature
- Review account reconciliations and research and resolve reconciling items, when analysts require assistance
- Review weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly wires and funding entries and the related analytics
- Review quarterly pension & OPEB rollforward for external auditors, Corporate Financial Reporting and Tax
- Review and submit the benefits-related Form 10-Q and 10-K footnote disclosures and the applicable MD&A language
- Review and assist team with preparation of year-end financial reporting packages and tax packages for corporate entities
- Support SOX, DCAA and IRS audits
- Develop and maintain documentation to support statement of work
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting with 10 years of experience in a Big 4, Regional Public Accounting Firm, or a publicly traded company.
- Master's degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience. Master's degree and a CPA may be traded to a total of 3 years of experience.
- Public Accounting experience IF directly relevant may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Public accounting firm experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or actively pursuing licensure.
- Prior experience with SAP and/or HFM.
Salary Range: $129,300 - $193,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
