The Maintenance Technician reports to the Rotch Field Supervisor and is responsible for performing general building maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for all users. This role involves troubleshooting maintenance issues, responding to client requests, and performing routine repairs.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Maintain the interior and exterior of the building, including sidewalks, lighting, and landscaping.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, such as painting, plumbing repairs, minor carpentry, and electrical fixes.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the property, promptly addressing maintenance concerns.
- Remove and properly dispose of recyclable materials and waste daily.
- Assist custodial staff and tradespeople as assigned.
- Support special events, construction projects, and other service-related tasks as needed.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and materials.
- Conduct daily building rounds to inspect for hazards or needed repairs.
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery, including power tools, ladders, and cleaning equipment.
- Remove snow and ice from walkways and entrances as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls, including evenings and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS – Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to perform the job effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of experience in commercial cleaning, maintenance, or facility management required.
- Trade certifications (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, or electrical) are a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES – This may be representative but not all-inclusive of the knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with the job.
- Ability to operate power tools and maintenance equipment safely.
- Knowledge of custodial, light building maintenance, and operating cleaning equipment
- Familiarity with custodial procedures and light building maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members.
- Basic computer skills for logging maintenance reports or work orders.

- Active position requiring continuous movement, standing, walking, and climbing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- This is a nine-month, full-time position (40 hours per week).
- Non-traditional hours are required, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to dust, chemicals, and moderate noise levels.

Weekly Schedule
The weekly schedule for this role is Thursday–Monday from 2:30pm to 10:30pm from March 1 through December 1.
