Description:Do you have a passion for working on emerging technologies? Do you want to make an immediate impact on national security programs?
As we enter a new era of Weapon Systems, Lockheed Martin is a pioneer, partner, innovator and builder. Our outstanding people are on a mission to make a difference in the world and every single day we use our unique skills and experiences to create, craft and build solutions to some of the worlds' hardest engineering problems. Do you want to be part of a culture that inspires employees to think big, perform with excellence and build incredible products? We provide the resources, inspiration and focus - if you have the passion and courage to dream big, then we want to build a better tomorrow with you.
Our work with Navy Strategic Systems Program (SSP) is experiencing significant growth and we need experienced and passionate engineers to deliver integrated weapon systems that keep our customers ahead of ready.
The Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program is seeking a Staff Liaison Engineer located at the execution shipyard for the Zumwalt-class Guided Missile Destroyers (DDG) in Pascagoula, MS. This Shipyard Liaison Engineer will act as the onsite technical representative for the CPS program, coordinating in-yard activities with the customer (SSGC, PMS-500, and SPC), the broader LM CPS team, execution yard, planning yard, and other industry performers for the successful execution of CPS installation and integration on the three Zumwalt-class DDGs. The candidate will be engaged in all aspects of the CPS weapon system installation and integration (planning, execution, customer sell-off).
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, representing CPS at shipyard daily standups/production meetings, coordinate engineering and logistics engagements with the shipyard, facilitating detailed planning of installation and integration tasks with customers and shipyard, supporting hardware receipt/storage, supporting CPS installation and integration/test activities, and facilitating shipyard support tasks for CPS activities. The candidate will also work with the CPS platform integration team on all aspects of weapon system design and integration & test planning to ensure successful completion of the CPS installation on Zumwalt-class destroyers.
This is an opportunity for solving challenging problems, in a crucial, independent role that represents the CPS weapon system technical interests on-site with the shipyard executing Zumwalt-class modernization. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, developing positive relationships with many external organizations, and participating in tasks across many engineering disciplines.
Preference for this requisition will be given to Space employees.
