Job Summary

The Department of Natural Sciences in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters is seeking a LEO Lecturer I in the Earth and Environment Discipline, to teach two courses, GEOL 375 Groundwater Hydrology and its Laboratory in the Winter 2025 semester which begins on January 6, 2025, and ends on April 18, 2025. Contractual full-time rate per term is $25,500; term salary is prorated to the number of sections taught and course effort percentage. Based on performance and enrollment, Lecturer may be re- appointed for the Winter 2027 term. The expected effort of this appointment is 33.3%.

Desired Qualifications*

Prospective candidates should minimally possess a graduate degree in a relevant discipline, such as: Geological Sciences, Earth Sciences, or Environmental Sciences. Relevant work and teaching experience in the environmental field is desirable. Strong communication skills are needed. Previous teaching experience and professional experience in the environmental field is preferred.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
