JOB DESCRIPTION

Everforth Apex Systems is searching for a skilled professional with excellent consultative abilities to assume the position of a Lead Consultant within our Cloud & Infrastructure practice. This individual will serve in a strategic role at Apex, collaborating with internal and client project teams to offer direction in designing, implementing, and supporting our Liquid Cooling capability and service offerings. The consultant will also provide technical support for Apex sales, solution management, and account teams during the scoping of new Cloud & Infrastructure based opportunities.

  • Meet or exceed client expectations in the execution of Solutions Delivery services engagements.
  • Produce high quality deliverables, meet project deadlines, and take responsibility for engagement and team success.
  • Demonstrate a passion for quality and process improvement.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert internally and externally.
  • Build trust and respect among internal and external stakeholders and model collaborative teamwork.
  • Collaborate internally with Apex Account Teams, Solution Leaders, Industry Leaders, Practice Leaders, and others to develop Apex Solutions Delivery Services business.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to acquire skills to meet business needs.
  • Build strong client, industry, and internal relationships and represent Apex Systems as a leader within Industry and Professional events and communities. Develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships.
  • Lead team members and direct reports to Lead the development, growth, and success of your team, developing professionals for the next stage of their careers.
  • This role may be responsible for managing hybrid project teams consisting of Apex Contract Employees, Internal Apex employees, client employees and external vendors.
  • Stay current on relevant technology trends and practices.
  • Continually innovate, seek creative solutions, and find new ways of adding value.
  • Serve as the technical lead and primary interface for customer engagements, including hyperscalers and colocation providers
  • Own pre-sales solutioning, including design reviews, RFP responses, and technical presentations/defense
  • Lead system-level integration across liquid cooling architectures:
    • Direct-to-chip (DLC)
    • Rear-door heat exchangers (RDHx)
    • Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs)
  • Design and validate:
    • CDU sizing and selection
    • Secondary loop layouts
    • Manifold distribution strategies
    • TCS (Technology Cooling System) ↔ FWS (Facility Water System) tie-ins
  • Oversee full delivery lifecycle:
    • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
    • Commissioning
    • Acceptance Testing (ATP)
    • Handover
  • Direct multi-disciplinary field teams (mechanical, controls, electrical trades) with accountability for safety, quality, and schedule
  • Establish and enforce delivery governance frameworks:
    • Standard playbooks
    • QA/QC checkpoints
    • Execution standards across sites
  • Evaluate and challenge OEM solutions across vendors (Vertiv, CoolIT, Motivair/Schneider, Asetek)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME required)
  • 5+ years of experience in data center mechanical systems
  • 3+ years of experience leading multi-site liquid cooling deployments in production environments
  • Strong working knowledge of at least one of the major liquid cooling OEM platforms:
    • Vertiv (Liebert XDU)
    • CoolIT
    • Motivair / Schneider
    • Asetek
  • Demonstrated success in customer-facing presales roles
  • Must be willing to travel to client sites up to 25-50%

  • Capable of bridging design, commercial, and field execution
  • Comfortable operating as the single thread of accountability
