Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a HR Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources Business Partner, this position supports the corporate and business transactions and structured transactions practice groups in the overall strategic planning, implementation and administration of Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and functions. The HR Coordinator will ensure compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
This position can reside in Philadelphia, New York, or Washington DC offices and offers a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.
Responsibilities:
General HR
Gain a strong understanding of the relevant practice groups and HRBP team and develop a meaningful relationship with the attorneys and staff within assigned groups.
Organize and update tracking systems and documents and proactively seek ways for the HRBP and team to be more efficient.
Communicate, administer, and interpret personnel policies and procedures to attorneys; provide Human Resources policy guidance and interpretation.
Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day of attorneys to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
Employee Relations
Under the direction of HRBP, assist with the voluntary and involuntary separation processes, including being responsible for processing departures and all relevant logistics.
Assist with coordinating and conducting introductory and 45-day check-in meetings with newly hired attorneys; identify and raise issues to HRBP as needed.
Under the direction of HRBP, liaise with attorneys or business staff to provide support as requested.
HRIS
Prepare Workday notifications for all attorney actions and updates.
Work with Shared Services Coordinator (SSC) to ensure HRIS transactions are processed timely and accurately.
Assist attorneys with systems-related questions and efficiently generate relevant reports.
Performance Evaluations and Compensation
Assist HRBP with the 45-day, mid-year and annual performance review processes for assigned groups including:
Organize meeting logistics, compile necessary materials, and be available for on-site support for all performance evaluation meetings.
Monitor reviews and distribute materials as needed; help attorneys with evaluation systems training and issues.
Perform HR reviews of attorney and professional staff performance evaluations.
Process necessary compensation, ratings, bonus adjustments and promotions.
Compliance
Liaise with Local HR, Attorney Recruiting, Talent Acquisition and/or Compliance departments to ensure personnel records are received and filed appropriately.
Support the HRBP with ensuring bar membership compliance and employment verifications.
Talent Management
Assist with processing promotions, reduced schedule arrangements, office transfers, concurrent employment after hire, etc.
Monitor attorney leaves, including participation in relevant calls and distribution of applicable memos and communication.
Other Responsibilities and Special Projects
Provide assistance to HRBP, the larger HR team and practice groups on various special projects, as needed.
Be available to effectively field and answer a variety of questions, including but not limited to payroll, benefits, vacation, hours, etc.
Liaise with HRBPs and centers of excellence including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Compliance, HRIS and Compensation to provide support as needed in areas such as performance evaluations, transaction requests, employee relations, recruiting, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in HR or a related field required.
Minimum of two years of related experience, Human Resources focused experience preferred.
Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and solid written and verbal communications skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with HRIS and/or Workday systems preferred.
The ability to work occasional overtime when needed and occasional regional office travel is required.

For positions in New York City, NY, the salary range for this positions is: $67,400.00 - $107,825.00.
For positions in Washington, D.C., the salary range for this positions is: $62,000.00 - $99,200.00.
The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
