Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head Chef to lead our culinary operations. Reporting to the Executive Chef, this role is ideal for a passionate, organized, and innovative chef who thrives in a fast-paced, high-touch event environment. The Head Chef will be responsible for menu development, kitchen management, and ensuring the consistent delivery of exceptional cuisine and guest satisfaction for all weddings and events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Creation & Customization
- Design and update seasonal menus tailored to upscale weddings and private events.
- Collaborate with clients on custom menus, tastings, and dietary accommodations.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise all BOH staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers.
- Foster a team-oriented culture focused on excellence, efficiency, and cleanliness.
- Event Execution
- Oversee food preparation and execution for weddings ranging from 50 to 500+ guests.
- Coordinate logistics with FOH team and event planners to ensure seamless service.
- Quality Control & Consistency
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Implement consistent portion control and plating techniques.
- Inventory & Cost Management
- Manage food and labor costs to meet financial goals.
- Oversee inventory, purchasing, vendor relations, and cost tracking.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure kitchen operations meet all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-end catering, banquet, or fine dining environment.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale events and high-volume service.
- Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration with front-of-house and event planning teams.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- ServSafe or other food safety certification required.
- Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume property, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and colleague relations, and ability to improve the bottom line
- Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
- Bi-lingual - Spanish speaking skills a plus
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
- Maintain communications with Hotel Staff
- Provide ongoing feedback, coach and counsel colleagues to reflect Hyatt Service Standards and Procedures
