Job Title: Facilities Sanitation Technician
Reports To: Sanitation Supervisor
Location: Nampa, ID
This position is for B shift. Sunday - Tuesday and E/O Wednesday from 7:00pm-7:00am. This shift includes a $2 night shift premium.
Job Summary:
The Facilities Sanitation Technician for Materne North America is responsible for performing a variety of sanitation activities at the Nampa, ID food manufacturing facility and offices. This role will focus primarily on janitorial and facilities sanitation tasks.
Job Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Perform the duties of sanitation as described in the programs and systems including but not limited to sanitation, environmental monitoring, quality and food safety standards for the plant.
- Rinse, wash, and sanitize equipment and areas as needed to reduce cross contamination risk as pertains to food safety of finished product and ingredients. Including but not limited to the sanitation of:
- Common Areas such as break rooms, locker rooms, and restrooms as well as trash, waste, recycling equipment, and grounds.
- Lead, monitor, and report on chemical usage and movement of chemicals within the common areas of the plant and ensure compliance of chemical concentrations, cleaning frequency, and sanitary conditions.
- Train, educate, and mentor team members on sanitary practices and good housekeeping.
- Rinse, wash, and sanitize equipment and areas as needed to reduce cross contamination risk as pertains to food safety of finished product and ingredients. Including but not limited to the sanitation of:
- Participate in and initiate continuous improvement with Sanitation Leadership and team members to drive a world class sanitation program.
- Effectively communicate opportunities, inventory status, continuous improvement efforts, etc. to the Sanitation Supervisor.
- Investigate, respond, and report internal customer feedback regarding product food safety and quality issues as they pertain to sanitation.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred
Knowledge/Skills:
- Must be able to work safely with industrial sanitation chemicals
- Must be able to operate cleaning equipment, including a floor sweeper.
- Must give high attention to detail and consistently maintain high standards of performance.
- Ability to communicate (verbal, read, write) effectively in English
- Basic math skills, including competency with weights and measures
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety shoes and hearing protection.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day and be on one’s feet for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours.
- Must be able to work in wet / cold / hot internal and external environments
Experience:
- Experience with food industry sanitation practices preferred
- Mixing and maintaining chemical inventory preferred
