Full Job Description

What's the role?

As an E&I Specialist, you will be a member of the Maintenance Leadership Team (MLT) and administratively report to the Maintenance Supervisor. You will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and lead focal point on all Electrical and Instrument related issues at the site. Additionally, you will support many different work groups. Some examples of this support are, but not limited to, the following:

Project Support:

  • Provide technical support to the project team during design phase for any electrical and instrument related capital projects

  • Provide construction and commissioning support to the project team during project execution and P2A handoffs

  • Assist project management with vetting of E&I Contractors and the bid process

  • Participate in FAT's and SAT's as needed

  • Recommend E&I spare parts

  • Provide input for electrical and instrument equipment PM's

  • Create functional locations and equipment numbers for new electrical and instrument assets

Reliability & Routine Maintenance Support:

  • Periodically reviews E&I PM's for adequacy, completeness and makes changes as necessary

  • Responsible for ensuring Shell E&I Craftsmen are provided appropriate training skills and techniques to deliver quality results

  • Provide trouble shooting support for planning purposes

  • Deliver quality assurance (QA) checks on E&I jobs through the MECO process

  • Review spare parts and help with BOM creations/revisions for E&I Equipment

  • Provide technical support for site-wide bad actor improvement initiatives

Turnaround Support:

  • Provide QA/QC for E&I work conducted during the event

  • Generate turnaround work letters for any identified shutdown jobs

  • Oversee 3rd party contractors for E&I related work activities

  • Provide back-up support for start-up activities

General Site Support:

  • Be the lead contact for any site-wide electrical failures

  • Member of the production team and provide support to the MTO work process

  • Generate MOC's as needed for plant changes associated with E&I equipment

  • Support the PACO team for alarm management initiatives

  • Site Focal Point for all Instrument/ Electrical procedures and policies

What we need from you

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • You must have a minimum 7 years of experience in Instrumentation and/or Electrical

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent        

The base salary range for this position is $84, 000.00 - $126, 000 per year.  Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity. 

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives.  For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.  Additional information on Shell's US benefit programs can be found at https://www.shell.us/careers/about-careers-at-shell/rewards-and-benefits.html.
