Position Summary:
The Director of Operations, Festivals is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the assigned festival business units. This position will oversee daily needs to ensure that all goals are being met. Additionally, the Director of Operations, Festivals will find ways to streamline day to day operations to increase overall efficiency. In such capacity, the Director of Operations, Festivals will report to and perform job responsibilities in accordance with the general supervision and direction of the Executive Producer and Director of the assigned festival business units.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure assigned festivals run smoothly by disseminating pertinent information to department heads and festival staff, including detailed festival logistics information and evacuation and safety procedures training.
- Oversee all physical aspects of assigned festivals to ensure they are up to code and legally compliant per OSHA standards and that they are aesthetically visually pleasant and in great condition.
- Collaborate with leadership to prepare the annual operations budgets and conduct monthly reforecasting and re-projections.
- Manage a team of 2-5 direct reports responsible for overseeing all aspects of festival operations.
- Manage and negotiate festival contracts within assigned budgets in collaboration with direct reports and festival leadership.
- Oversee festival build schedules and load in/out operations.
- Manage submission of and adherence to required festival permits in collaboration with applicable public safety entities.
- Develop and oversee festival accessibility policies and operations in collaboration with AEG Risk Management teams.
- Develop festival signage strategies and hire and manage teams to implement all applicable operations.
- Maintain festival owned asset inventory and collaborate with other AEG festival business units to maximize financial and operational efficiency across the AEG festivals portfolio.
- Coordinate meetings with key personnel daily or as frequently as necessary.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and after-action reports.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Business Management or a related field
- 2-4 years of related work experience
- 8-10 years of related work experience
- Management experience and exceptional leadership abilities
- Experience in event production in the live entertainment industry
- Experience with ticketing systems and budget creation preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and able to analyze multiple tasks at once with competing priorities
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Project management expertise
- Must have strong background in leadership
- Able to resolve problems quickly and efficiently
- Must have strong negotiation skills
- Maintain strong working relationships with partners
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word) and Adobe software

- Interest/knowledge of music industry preferred
