Job Summary

We are seeking a Director, Markets, Operational Client Relationship Management to join our team at Standard Chartered Bank in Newark. The successful candidate will be working with the Head, Markets Operational CRM as well as other team members to drive origination, develop strong client relationships and be seen as an expert in this area by internal and external stakeholders.

The successful person will oversee the Operational Client Relationship Managers looking after Investor clients across the Market Client Solutions team globally. The successful candidate is fully accountable for the service delivery relationship for the Markets Investor segment clients globally.

A solid understanding of Markets products and the client and trade lifecycle would be a requirement. The candidate will play a key role facing off to the Markets Sales Investor business stakeholders and would be responsible to run cadence globally to ensure oversight over the client's operational customer experience and ensuring alignment with the Investors business plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the expert in developing strategies for managing relationships with clients in the Investors segment.
  • Oversee the Investor segment team globally as well as having management oversight across the Operational Client Relationship Management group within the Americas region.
  • Manage the overall cadence of client service delivery specific to the segment across all operational touch points - pre-trade/trade and post trade.
  • Manage and drive initiatives to align operational strategies with client expectations and business goals.
  • Work with key clients to identify opportunities to develop operational solutions or service offering to deliver value beyond the standard service.
  • Strategize ways to improve the client operational experience across all the touchpoints working collaboratively with functional teams within Operations across CIB.
  • Keep abreast with industry trends and technological advancements to propose innovative solutions to improve the operational relationship.
  • Develop and forecast capabilities to proactively identify operational bottlenecks and assess performance trends.
  • Acts as a strategic advocate for the Investors client segment, ensuring their needs are prioritised in operational strategy implementation and process changes.
  • Deliver a first-class operational relationship management in all Markets related interactions. Oversight of all client touch points: Pre / At / Post trade operational activities.
  • Work with Sales / RM to identify opportunities and ensure smooth first trade execution. Ensure new account / new business / new client is successful with no operational issues.
  • First port of call for Sales. Act as senior escalation contact person for internal stakeholders. Work with internal teams to resolve the issue. Communicate with clients to solve escalations pertaining to their transactions as well as understand their longer terms needs to shape business choices in Operations.
  • Constantly seek opportunities to improve global consistency, work closely with the Hubs (GBS) and other regions to close gaps and standardise processes.
  • Account Planning: Build operational account plans alongside Sales and broader functions that provides a view of client personas, opportunities and plans for improvement.

Qualifications

  • The candidate preferably should have at least 10 years of experience.

  • Client Management experience.

  • Financial Markets experience is required.

  • Bonds, equities, the various international currencies, and derivatives are big plus.

  • FX, Derivatives, Capital Markets knowledge.

Recruitment Assessments

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 121,000 USD to 182,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
