At FactSet, our values are the foundation of everything we do. They express how we act and operate, serve as a compass in our decision-making, and play a big role in how we treat each other, our clients, and our communities. We believe that the best ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, at any time, and that curiosity is the key to anticipating our clients’ needs and exceeding their expectations.

About the Role

The Director, Deep Sector Power & Utilities will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of FactSet's Energy content offerings, providing global, multi-office leadership across the Energy team. As a recognized subject matter expert in the energy sector, you will bring deep knowledge of energy data providers, reporting frameworks, regulatory developments, and industry trends, as well as a thorough understanding of how Power & Utilities data is leveraged across investment management, research workflows, and decision-making processes.

Working in close partnership with the Deep Sector and broader Data Solutions teams, you will develop and execute a comprehensive data product strategy encompassing content acquisition, collection, integration, and analytical insights. You will lead the Power & Utilities team — comprised of Power Development, Regulated Utility, and Energy Transition sub-teams — while collaborating closely with the Oil & Gas team and broader Deep Sector organization. Your key responsibilities will include overseeing complex product development projects, optimizing internal models and workflows, managing relationships with third-party energy data providers, supporting sales teams and interfacing with key clients, and developing derived energy content and insights, including the strategic application of artificial intelligence (AI).

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee major projects from inception to delivery, ensuring well-defined scope, appropriate prioritization, timely communication of risks, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental resources and drive prioritization decisions across competing project and operational demands.
  • Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to resolve issues, gather product feedback, and drive satisfaction through demonstrations and sales presentations.
  • Serve as a credible energy subject matter expert, contributing to white papers, webinars, and thought leadership content.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Power & Utilities team across Power Development, Regulated Utility, and Energy Transition sub-teams.
  • Collaborate with the Oil & Gas and broader Deep Sector teams to align priorities and share best practices.
  • Manage headcount planning, employee relations, and ad hoc legal and contract matters, while contributing to company-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve energy data sets, workflows, and legacy models to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Leverage AI and machine learning tools to enhance existing workflows and expand data collection and analytics capabilities.
  • Advise on energy content collection, distribution, and expansion strategies, providing direction to engineering and product teams.
  • Partner with senior leadership on hiring, compensation, organizational structure, and departmental strategy.
  • Shape the long-term product roadmap, develop investment business cases, and pursue partnerships with third-party data providers to expand content capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a relevant field
  • 15+ years of relevant experience within the energy sector and/or financial services, with comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of energy markets, including Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, and Energy Transition
  • Demonstrated expertise in Power Development, Regulated Utilities, and Energy Transition, with familiarity across Oil & Gas markets
  • Ability to serve as an authoritative subject matter expert on energy content and its integration into client workflows across asset classes
  • Strong understanding of large-scale operations, with the ability to identify problems, solutions, dependencies, and downstream impacts
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting as it relates to energy sector data and content
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple offices and geographies
  • Proven ability to create and deliver executive-level and client-facing presentations, including product demonstrations and sales pitch support
  • Experience managing offshore and/or outsourced teams and operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across a wide range of audiences, from analysts to C-level executives
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and GIS tools with a proven track record of applying these in an analytical or data-driven environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with AI workflows and applying AI/ML techniques to data and content challenges
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft suite of products and financial market data platforms
  • For U.S. candidates, must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
