Communications Manager - Change Management
Job Description
Our Healthcare client is seeking a part-time Communications Manager to join their team for the next 18 months, around 20 hours/week.
This role is hybrid requiring a minimum of 12 hours per week to be onsite in Lake Bluff, IL.
Role Summary
The Change Management Communications Manager will support large-scale procurement transformation initiatives by developing and managing external supplier communications across multiple implementation waves. This role is responsible for drafting clear, professional, and action-oriented messaging related to system, process, and operational changes, while ensuring alignment with organizational values, compliance standards, and change management timelines. The ideal candidate brings strong communication expertise, project management capabilities, and experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Top Must Have Skills
6+ years of experience in change management, employee communications, or external communications
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Experience developing professional communications for external audiences
Strong project management and multitasking abilities
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, Compliance, Procurement, and senior leadership
Experience managing communication approvals and distribution processes
Strong business acumen and executive presence
Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Integrated Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
Experience within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries preferred
Knowledge of change management communication strategies and best practices
Experience supporting procurement or supplier-related initiatives is a plus
Familiarity with emerging communication technologies and trends
Executive writing and social media communication experience preferred
Ability to adapt messaging for different audiences, regions, and business needs while maintaining consistency
Responsibilities
Draft, edit, and finalize external supplier communications supporting multiple implementation waves within a large-scale transformation program
Ensure all communications are professional, factually accurate, action-oriented, and aligned with organizational values and Code of Conduct expectations
Develop messaging that clearly outlines process changes, system updates, operational guidance, and required supplier actions related to the Coupa Supplier Portal
Coordinate communication reviews and approvals with Legal, Compliance, Procurement leadership, and additional stakeholders prior to release
Manage communication distribution schedules aligned to the change management wave calendar
Adapt messaging for varying supplier audiences, regions, and implementation waves while ensuring consistency in core messaging and approval standards
Coordinate distribution through approved procurement mailboxes and ensure communications are sent to the appropriate external audiences
Monitor procurement mailboxes for supplier responses, questions, or escalation requests and route issues to appropriate internal stakeholders
Support post-distribution tracking and reporting activities, including acknowledgements, response monitoring, follow-up actions, and communication status reporting
Partner cross-functionally to support successful supplier engagement and adoption throughout the transformation process
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, drug products may be present in the workplace.
