This position is hybrid and remote eligible for up to 40% of the time. The office location for this position is at ESL Corporate Headquarters in Rochester, NY. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet current and future business needs. 

Pay:

$42.03/hour 

Purpose of Position:

The Cloud Administrator position supports the Cloud Engineers, Systems Administrators and Network Support Supervisor to ensure that the performance and availability of the cloud and systems infrastructure is maintained to the highest standard with maximum levels of productivity and efficiency.  Works with the Cloud Engineers in the installation of new systems and the ongoing administration and support of those systems in our cloud environment.  Provides Tier 3 technical support as escalated by the Network Support Supervisor.  Escalates systems issues to Systems or Cloud Engineers as appropriate and works with Systems and Cloud Engineers to resolve.  Provides quality systems consultation to business units and other S&T departments as directed

Principle Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Works closely with the Cloud Engineers to provide support, monitoring, and maintenance of ESL’s Cloud Environment

• Manage cloud subscriptions, resource groups and virtual machines.  Ensure that our cloud services are operational and following best-practices. • Plan and execute upgrades and routine maintenance to ensure that availability and performance standards are met. • Continually monitor ESL’s cloud environment, respond to alerts requiring corrective action, and communicate issues/resolutions to the appropriate stakeholders. • Provide 24x7x365 support, which requires carrying a cell phone to ensure accessibility during and after business hours. • Ensure all mission critical systems employ proper data replication and/or backup processes required for business continuity.  Recovery procedures are tested and documented. • Participate in and support all business continuance and disaster recovery testing initiatives • Collaborate with ESL developers to build superior business services • Collaborate with Information Security team to ensure public cloud resources are secure   

Assist the Network Services Managers by providing Tier 3 support and by acting as a liaison between Network Support, Cloud, and Systems Engineering.

• Work on an on call rotation with the Systems Administration Team for day to day escalations and support needs. • Collaborate with Network Services Managers on Tier 3 support issues.  Collaborate with Systems Engineer on these issues as appropriate. • Backup the Systems Engineering Manager in the coordination of support workflow, escalation of support issues, procurement of equipment, etc.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems/Computer Sciences or other related discipline, or 4 additional years of strong equivalent experience with public cloud services such as Azure
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with public cloud services such as Azure  
  • Intermediate knowledge of and experience with server virtualization
  • Foundational knowledge of networking
  • Strong planning, organizing, and coordination skills
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills required
  • Work effectively with all levels of ESL organization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Must be flexible with working hours that occasionally change on short notice to cover unexpected business needs. Must be available to respond to system issues on 24X7 basis
  • Frequent standing, walking, use of telephone and computer, lifting up to 50 lbs

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public Cloud Certifications preferred – Azure AZ-900, Azure AZ-104, CompTIA Cloud+.
  • Experience with scripting and task automation using tools like PowerShell and Ansible
  • Experience in Azure or comparable cloud technologies
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform.
