About the Job
Applications Analyst - SAP Finance This role works in our Phoenix Home Office. Visa sponsorship is not availabile for this role.
The Application Analyst will be responsible to execute SAP Finance project deliverables and provide operational support for Finance users. This Analyst should demonstrate an understanding of both business operations and corresponding financial processes and capabilities within SAP. This role will work directly with our various internal and external stakeholders, business partners, IT teams and external vendors to ensure successful translation of requirements into SAP solutions.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree - Finance or Computer Science preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in analyzing, designing, configuring, and implementing SAP Finance solutions and working on SAP integrations.
- Must have expertise in SAP FICO/S4 Finance module – processes and configuration. SAP project experience preferred.
- Retail SAP experience preferred.
- Good analytical approach to problem solving.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Technical Skills:
- Company Code Setup: Strong experience in configuring and managing company codes within SAP FI.
- Intercompany Postings: Proficiency in setting up and managing intercompany transactions and postings.
- Banking Process Setup: Expertise in configuring banking processes within SAP, including bank master data, electronic payments, and payment run setups.
- General Ledger: In-depth knowledge of GL account setup, chart of accounts configuration, and financial reporting.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Deep understanding of vendor and customer accounting, payments, dunning, and integration with other modules.
- Asset Accounting: Strong knowledge of asset accounting configuration, asset classes, and depreciation areas.
- Cost Center & Profit Center Accounting: Proven experience in configuring cost centers, profit centers, and cost allocations to support retail-specific needs.
- Strong understanding of retail business processes, including store accounting, sales, inventory, and financial reporting.
- Experience with SAP integration with other modules like MM, SD, and Retail (IS-R).
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance is highly desirable.
- Experience with SAP CAR and BPC BI/BW will be a plus.
JOB COMPLEXITY:
- Functional Knowledge - Possesses a solid functional knowledge of SAP ECC FICO and S/4 HANA Finance design and capabilities. Continues to learn and expand knowledge of SAP capabilities. Possesses good design/analytical skills.
- Business Knowledge - Understanding of Financial & accounting processes.
- Project Delivery – Ability to author functional specification documents and work with development team for delivery of custom solutions.
- Support—Ensure production issues are resolved in a timely manner. Communicates effectively with stakeholders during the issue resolution process. Follow defined incident resolution processes.
- Develop and build test cases and scripts; ensure that acceptance criteria are met; identify defects and works toward an appropriate resolution with the development and business teams.
- Communication Skills - Active listener who can summarize feedback into customer requirements. Exchanges information effectively with business and IT partner.
- Analytical/Design – Ability to evaluate, design, and implement SAP Finance solutions that meet customer requirements and is compatible with existing design.
